As a Lib I totally agree with you.

We also need to stop locking up drug offenders.
The amount of people who were locked up in the 1980's "War on Drugs" and given felony convictions (especially to minorities) is insane.

Here is the problem with rehabilitation though....we have turned our prisons over to private corporations so their focus is not about that but just to supervise them.

It's quite sad we have one of the largest prison populations in the world.

Agreed.

Especially if people were stealing food, water and generators after a big disaster like Hurricane Maria and, rescue was weeks or longer away.
