Not at all. If a Democrat tried to sell out the U.S. to Russia I'd be happy to see them indicted, tried, and if the evidence supports it, convicted. I'm loyal to the United States and the Constitution rather than to a party or an individual politician.
Well we have that in common. I have always said that I do not believe Trump himself colluded with Russia. I have also said anyone who did she be punished. I stand by that. If I am wrong and Trump was directly involved than he should be too.
George Papadopoulos, who served as a foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, allegedly lied to federal investigators about his interactions with a professor with ties to the Kremlin, according to the statement of offense filed Monday.
He is charged with perjury essentially over his interactions with a professor.
Papadopoulous made a plea deal with Mueller. In exchange for cooperating with investigators, he got to plead guilty to a lesser charge:
"Through his false statements and omissions, defendant ... impeded the FBI's ongoing investigation into the existence of any links or coordination between individuals associated with the Campaign and the Russian government's efforts to interfere with the 2016 presidential election," Mueller's team wrote.
Papadopoulos was arrested in July 2017 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 5. His plea agreement says the government will inform the sentencing judge of his "efforts to cooperate with the Government, on the condition that your client continues to respond and provide information regarding any and all matters as to which the Government deems relevant."
I'm betting every politician in the beltway would have known to steer clear of all these individuals that have tainted the president. That's what happens when you think getting an outsider to run for president is great idea.
