Very shady, this happened back in June and just recently Army handed it over to the Navy investigators. Sure is taking a bit of time

There's never been love lost between the SEALs and Army Green Berets from what I've read in the past.

Navy criminal authorities are investigating whether two members of the elite SEAL Team 6 strangled an Army Green Beret in June while they were in Mali on a secret assignment, military officials say.

Staff Sgt. Logan J. Melgar, a 34-year-old veteran of two tours in Afghanistan, was found dead on June 4 in the embassy housing he shared in the Malian capital, Bamako, with a few other Special Operations forces assigned to the West African nation to help with training and counterterrorism missions.

Sad. A Black Mark on the SEALs if true.

Story gets stranger

Green Beret Discovered SEALs’ Illicit Cash. Then He Was Killed.

Quote:
Logan Melgar hadn’t had a drink on June 4.

The Green Beret sergeant’s dry day became a key to unraveling the narrative spun by the elite Navy commandos whom military investigators now suspect killed him, officials familiar with the case said.

It doesn’t take a lot for people exposed to constant corruption of third world countries to become corrupted themselves. These men were all roommates I heard and I thought it was just a domestic at first.

It's just so messed up.

I've never heard of elite unit members killing each other like this. It's something you see in a fictional movie with weird conspiratorial tones where troops kill each other.

Not saying this is an issue in general but just such an odd and creepy thing.

Me neither, weird as all get out. Maybe it was a woman, or drugs or money, guess we will find out soon enough.

An update to a truly disturbing and horrifying case, two SEALs and two Marines were charged with felony murder and lying to investigators.

Navy SEALs, Marines Charged With Green Beret Logan Melgar’s Murder

Quote:
The military has formally charged two Navy SEALs and two special-operations Marines in one of the most grisly murder cases in recent U.S. history, The Daily Beast has learned.

Two members of elite SEAL Team Six, Petty Officer Anthony E. DeDolph and Chief Petty Officer Adam C. Matthews, along with two Marine Raiders face charges that include felony murder, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, burglary, hazing, and involuntary manslaughter in the strangulation death of a Green Beret, Army Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar. All four were charged with felony murder and with lying to investigators.

One would be shocking - any more than that and it's extremely difficult to get your head wrapped around it. How does that even happen?
