And thus ends any whining about the show having anything to do with the spacey accusations.
No. Not at all. The sooner the situation is allowed to air out, the quicker the air is clear again.
That's the opposite of denying nothing happened. It's much better to admit it happened, let the chips fall as they may, and then move on.
As long as it's all covered up, the consequences only increase. In the case of Fox News, the cover-ups did more damage than firing O'Reilly quick and clean would have caused.
It's all about power abusing the powerless. That's always going to happen to some extent, and it's as old as time. It's just better to kill it quickly than to let it go and fester nowadays.
We are all learning a lot more about the famous people we like, or we don't like, than ever before in the past. And this is not a passive time.
Stuff like abuse makes us mad now, when in the past, we could never know about it, so we tolerated it through our ignorance alone. For every one who likes some famous person, there is always another who does not.
But that won't change human behavior. Power will always prey on the powerless in many ways.
So, I guess we can all expect to have a favorite ox of ours gored once in a while now in the future. Once we expect it, the shock won't be as great eventually.
Netflix decided to end the series before Spacey's announcement.
Incorrect.
What they actually stated.
“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” the two companies said in a joint statement to Deadline.
How can it be that people take actions like this just because someone made a claim?
I know that way too often we compare this sort of stuff to witch-hunts, but in Salem, people started saying that women were witches simply because they didn't like them or they wanted to cause trouble for them, and they knew that simply claiming they were a witch would be sufficient. If the claim was made, absolutely no evidence was required beyond that for it to have a catastrophic social effect.
His fellow accomplice in crime actors, are PO'ed they are out of a good paying gig.
Filming for season six is currently suspended. Netflix just announced that season six would be the final year having decided this months ago before the recent Spacey news.

No one gets to see the season finale. Bummer!
Nah. Acting is just another job. Lots of jobs are permanently temporary these days, and acting has always been a temp job that's only good for the length of the contract.
All series end in time, and the actors never know how long the job on one of them will last. It's just the same for stage and movie actors.
There's no such thing as career security in the acting profession. They all know that when they get into it. That's one reason why so many actors leave the profession.
Like music, it's one of those jobs that pays well when you get the gig, but the gigs can be pretty far apart. There are always a few who have long careers, but most of them only last a decade or less.
By now, some of the cast already has other work lined up. If season 6 is ever produced, you won't be seeing some of the faces when it airs.

BS. I don't believe it. HOC had a big audience. They'd brought in Campbell Scott in a Machiavellian role - looked to be an interesting season. This is a bit much - especially if Spacey's one and only offense occurred decades ago - the purge is going too far.

How do you know how big the audience is/was? Netflix doesn't release such data.
looks like the white women and men are finally speaking up about their white rapist...
