"Third world" countries need a strong government.

As if the US war on drugs succeeded? Legalize it all. I don't get how trumpers want freedom from government intervention in their lives, but are afraid of a little pot. Bunch of pu$$ies.

Obama had eight years to address this problem and didn't. Give Trump eight years and maybe he will fix what Obama couldn't.

decriminalize rather than legalize

No, if you take out the cartels, that would kill the war on drugs, and all the budget money all the various law enforcement agencies receive in order to continue fighting this war.

In order to justify a war on drugs, there needs to be a drug problem, they need the cartels as much as the cartels need the US to keep using drugs.

Its why they stopped targeting the major cartels after Pablo Escobar was killed.

Legalizing drugs would obviously kill the war on drugs, which is what I said in the first place - soooooo wtf is this circle logic. Legalize drugs - the cartels relative power collapses on its own - without that power they cannot meddle, and become much easier to clean up in their diminished capacity than they are now at peak power. Same exact principle as laying siege to a location for an extended time before a ground invasion, tactics that have been effective basically since humans invented walls.

It's like a parasitic symbiotic relationship where the parasite cannot kill its host or it loses its meal ticket.

American law enforcement doesn't want the problem eliminated because they would be out of a job, and they love their cat and mouse game. Where else can sociopaths get so much satisfaction?

Sounds like the Democrat's disastrous war on guns.

You would need to both legalize and deregulate to a large extent. If you over-tax and over-regulate you'll still end up with a black market.

Reading this stuff you'd never get the idea that the vast majority of Mexicans....want to live in Mexico! This doesn't count people with family already here - they are more torn.

The "illegals" these days want to work and make a higher wage and then go home. Unfortunately, that's hardly possible...although some do it.

Oh, and more Americans than EVER are retiring (moving) to Mexico and they LOVE it. 100's of thousands of Americans are going to Mexico and Costa Rica and Columbia for MEDICAL CARE.

So typical - we are the greatest, right...yet our people can't afford basic health care!
