Voter suppression efforts are aimed at precisely this goal.
Lower turnouts tend to favor the Republican party, so lower turnouts are a goal. Disenchanted voters become disengaged, and the disengaged are voiceless, their concerns need not be addressed and it's business as usual for the wealthy donor class..

Are you aware that if NO ONE voted the congress and the house will chose for you? Get rid of the electoral college and we'll see some change. Tell other then Obama passing the ACA where in the last say 20 years that something good has come about that effects ALL of America. Not just one party.

I live in an area that is all about tourists and we have many J1 visa people that come in the Summer to work in the service hospitality industries. We just don't have enough people to fill the temporary jobs.
Most of these people are students in their home countries that come to America for the experience and to bank some money. Others are professional waiters/ chefs etc... that come here for the season then go back to the Caribbean.
MaraLago is a high end resort that is also a business and the people that manage it must feel that they need to reach out further for qualified employees.
Are you suggesting that we need "affirmative action" for the local to Maralago workers?

I have a hard time believing that with jobs being the way they are that no one applied. Maybe the servers wanted more money then the resort wanted to pay. When you run on said platform and then do the opposite it's going to bite you in the arse.
So Mar Largo firsted advertises for local workers to fill seasonal jobs. Can't get them. So then hires LEGAL immigrants to fill these positions.
