Whenever you hear someone on P&OC stating that it's useless to vote as it doesn't matter, or the best way to defeat white supremacists is to just ignore them and their rallies, I guarantee you it's a staunch alt right Trumpster.

It's what they want. To discourage voters from going to the polls and citizens from protesting racism.
If we don't stand up and participate, we hand the country to white nationalist fascists.

The new visas will go to 20 foreign cooks, 35 waiters and 15 maids and housekeepers for the 2017-18 tourist season, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. They’ll earn hourly wages from $10.33 (for the cleaners) to $13.34 (for the cooks). The temporary visas allow them to work from October 2017 to the end of May 2018.

hallmark of Trump’s presidential campaign and a stated push of his administration is that U.S. companies should hire American workers. He has criticized Ford Motor Company, Carrier Corp. and others for moving manufacturing jobs to Mexico. Mar-a-Lago was applying for the foreign worker visas this July when the president launched “Made in America Week.”

Trump said at the time, “We believe jobs must be offered to American workers first. Does that make sense?”

Can you say hypocrite?
Why not give those jobs to Americans, Mr. Orange?

Dear.

Thank you for pointing out my typo. And if you had managed to get beyond that, you would have noticed that in the very post you replied to, the advertisement was posted.

He can most definitely insist his companies hire Americans.

It is within his capabilities.

This isn't a little known practice. We've been talking about this publicly since he whined about 'foreigners taking jobs away from Americans.".

At the last family gathering a simple -- hey boys you need to do as I say --- let's hire Americans.

and poof done.

So don't pretend this is something out of his scope of capabilities and awareness.

That's just naive.

Other than posting a notice about split shifts and no tips in the back of a paper, there is no evidence to indicate they have made any effort to get Americans to do this job.

Jobs are not listed on online job sites. Employment agencies state they don't receive calls from Mar-a-Lago. Mar-a-Lago does not participate in job fairs.
I guess you missed that the ad directed resumes/applications be sent to a Palm Beach County employment office that works to connect applicants with employees. Presumably, they have info on qualified unemployed people that they can refer to Mar-A-Lago if they want to.

Probably they don't have any as unemployment rate for Palm Beach County is under 5%. Full employment. Anyone who has ever done hiring knows that at that rate, most Americans looking for a job are undesirable for one reason or another........usually substance abuse, lack of work or bad work experience, criminal background, emotional problems, transportation issues, etc.

Guess you also missed the real bottom line. Americans do not want/cannot afford to only work seasonally. If you go back and read the article posted, the person who sounded well qualified turned the job down because it was SEASONAL.

Trump has the ability to make sure Americans would take those jobs - that is, if he really believed in "America first", he'd make it a priority that his companies, especially his favorite resort ("White House, South"), utilize those practices of employment. It would be easy for him - one memo, really.

Of course, this is assuming he, himself, cares about this concept. Based on the behaviors of his companies, though, that has always clearly been talk and no walk.

I don't think it's necessarily wrong to bring in foreign workers, mind you. But I also didn't run a divisive campaign on this issue and get elected for it, either.
