Doubt that. Just do me a favor and remain neutral, don't be a leftist poison pill....

No. Disaster relief is socialism - for those who don't believe in basic public services, like firefighting, policing, and public and environmental health. Extreme right-wingers shouldn't receive ANY public funds after natural disasters. After all, they should have been better prepared. Not our fault they're so irresponsible.

In fact, it's not even socialism. It's theft.

You doubt what?

As for being a "leftist poison pill" (), I'm not even much of a liberal. One needn't be to dispute these silly arguments.

I don't know anybody that doesn't believe in those things. All the folks I know (and there's a bunch) that work in those trades are conservatives so why wouldn't they believe in them?

Look upthread. Elsewhere on CD, I've read lots of other comments from posters who believe that those basic services AND even infrastructure should be privatized.

Until THEY need help. Then, of course, it's different.

Oh, I meant I doubt you've left Tennessee much 'cept maybe heading down to the Gulf. I'm all for essential government services, but beyond that it has to be compelling. Safety net for the most vulnerable etc etc etc

I'm an immigrant. From a wealthy, Western (social democratic) country. I'm also a child of immigrants from yet another wealthy, Western (social democratic) country. Lived in various parts of my home country; lived in a couple of different parts of the US. Been for extended trips, staying with family, to my parents' (social democratic) country.

Who "actively promotes" Socialism? The last election had a globalist center-right candidate (Clinton) and an wacko unhinged nut (Trump).

Where was the Socialist candidate?
