The accused has been at home recovering from injuries sustained in a bike accident. Who knows? Maybe he fell on his head. Maybe he and Paul have a history of neighbor conflicts. Maybe Paul has a barking dog. Maybe Paul allows his dog to poop on neighbor's grass. Maybe Paul's mower was spewing crap on his neighbor's lawn. Maybe he thought Paul harassed his family. Maybe the guy is a whack job.
No mention of a weapon. No mention of a political motivation.

While we are waiting for Rand Paul to report on why his neighbor knocked him down, thought I'd post this pie chart for our edification and entertainment.

I suspect that you are on to something. Perhaps said neighbor is taking narcotic medication (especially if he invented some device to help with back pain), and after his bike accident, he was given something else at the ER. Medications can make people do strange things.
I am glad that Senator Paul was not seriously injured.

Hard to imagine an M.D. goes around dressed in all black, attacking random Republican.
Democrats take another leap towards domestic terrorism.
He is a registered Democrat but nothing screams this itself was politically motivated. It is only people like the OP putting that forth.
