Run this through your cerebral cortex. Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller was appointed by Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and provides status reports to both Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Just prior to the indictments of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates and the revelation of George Papadopoulus's guilty plea, the Trump administration's efforts at upping their propaganda spin certainly indicates that the Trump people were in the loop with regards to the status of the Mueller investigation.
It's highly likely that the leaks concerning Team Mueller's investigation are coming out of disgruntled employees within the White House.
Leaks are leaks regardless of who did it.
So is it only a leak if the other side does it ?
Everyone is now coming up with their new definition of what a leak is so that this unauthorized release of information to the press is not considered "a leak".
That's actually the definition that was used in Congressional testimony with the Director of National Intelligence who defined a leak.

My point, to which you seem to have no valid response, is that it's more likely that the leaking regarding the progress of potential Trump campaign / Russia government collusion is occurring from Team Trump, not Team Mueller.

As a member of the trump transition team (post election) Flynn called the Russians to discuss the Obama sanctions, telling them not to worry about them. He later lied to Mike Pence and other WH staff about those calls. It is very possible that trump himself directed Flynn to make those calls so his buddy Putin could be assured his election help was not unappreciated.
