Apparently here in the US, decisions continue to be made sparing the wealthy & while focusing instead on reining in middle- & low-income citizens.

What Panama Papers say - and don
The real estate mogul and billionaire doesn’t appear to be the direct owner of any offshore company formed by Mossack Fonseca, the Panamanian law firm that is now the subject of multiple investigations after its documents were leaked to journalists.

As per the provided link, Mr. Trump's name was cited in 3,540 documents.

Also as per link, Mr. Trump's business model was NOT based on understanding & upholding the law, rather his was/is based on using an understanding of the law for the purpose of exploitation.

Besides being used as a 'cover' (due to the promise of anonymity) for various crimes such as money laundering, corruption & fraud ..., offshore companies are often 'shell companies' with no employees or office space, & are solely used for complex tax-avoidance structures that drain billions from national treasuries.

Sortof like 'Rent-seeking on steroids' where the use of the resources of a company, an organization or an individual is used to obtain economic gain from others without reciprocating any benefits to the society from which they derive benefits.

It won't matter.

If Trump was filmed on the evening news sitting on the White House lawn handing over the nuclear codes to Putin in person while loudly announcing what he's doing, he wouldn't lose a single one of his supporters. If Trump walked into their towns and shot each of them in the foot for no reason while laughing, they would still vote for him and and blame "Obama and the liberal media" for it all, somehow. We're not doing with rational people when it comes to Trump-lovers. Unfortunately, our leadership, particularly on the right, is crippled with cowardice, and they also won't have the guts to do anything about Trump, even if he's found in obvious violation of countless laws. Heck, at this point if he committed high treason, I don't think anybody in power would do anything and he wouldn't lose any voters. We're a nation past consequences, which is particularly ironic given how the far right normally loves to demand "accountability" from everyone - I guess their leadership is exempt, of course.

You're likely right when you say, "It won't matter".

There are likely many folks who're apparently committed to decisions made sparing the wealthy & while focusing instead on reining in middle- & low-income citizens.

As Mr. Bonaparte asserted, "Rascality has limits; stupidity has not."

Or, as some folks fondly assert, "Vive le stupide!"

True.

There's a sickness in this nation where being rich and powerful makes you somehow immune to accountability and consequences. Not only literally - the rich can often buy themselves freedom - but also in the minds of the people. The amount of mental gymnastics I've heard from Trump-lovers week after week to excuse his horrible behavior is mind-boggling; of course, we're also to believe that Hillary should have been "locked up" for far lesser forms of bad behavior. The partisan aspects of it are not surprising - though they are pathetic - but pandering over the elite is just sickening.

Just remember that Trump was considered a fraud, con-man, total scumbag, and embodiment of tasteless excess right up until he ran for president. Then - thanks to partisan lunacy and this nation's sick pandering to the rich and powerful - he suddenly ceased being the butt of every punchline and became "a real 'merican hero," or so we're to believe, despite, if anything, become an even worse human being than he was before. Heck, they've done studies and about 6 in 10 Trump supporters basically said that there's nothing he can do that will get them to stop supporting him.

6 in 10 Trump approvers say they will never, ever, ever stop approving - CNNPolitics

That is completely idiotic, a recipe for tyranny, and simply inexcusable behavior from supposedly educated people in a supposedly civilized culture. I know we're not supposed to point out the obvious ignorance of the far-right on this forum, but when they do it to themselves, what else can be said?

Nothing is going to get better until people - particularly those on the right - quit the partisan cult and start demanding accountability from our leaders

Madonna has money their too..
Nothing illegal about these off shore accounts..
Not paying taxes on these funds is illegal and will result in possible charges of tax evasion.. but I doubt much more will happen out of this..

The wealthy will buy their way out of that just like they always have done..

And here little Markie was worried about some Facebook ads. Heck a controlling interest via stock ownership is ten times more worrisome than some transient facebook ads.

Companies, individuals, politicians and even governments have been hiding money in these accounts.

70 years of data folks on how the little man gets screwed no matter what country you live in and you folks are focused on Trump.

FWIW there's an Obama cabinet member mentioned as well who "divested" but secretly put all the money into an offshore account that continued the same investment.

ATS is going wild over this find. You see..there IS a global elite and there IS TPTB calling the shots and hoarding money like there is no tomorrow. And governments are part of it.
You obviously don't have a clue about the voting structure of Facebook stock. Buying control away from Zuckerberg via buying publicly traded shares isn't going to happen. The publicly traded Facebook shares are A shares. The B shares (owned by Zuckerberg and other insiders) aren't publicly traded. The B shares have ten times the voting power of the A shares.

The mainstream media in the U.S. does limited reporting on this because they are in cahoots with the exact super wealthy people that are doing all of this.

Let's not forget who owns the Washington Post.
