This is not a regular person, but a police officer who is trained to deal with such situations to react in a calm professional manner, not out of anger. Defend yourself from a harmless slap from a much smaller female by knocking her out? You have anger issues. These are not the kind of people that should be armed and patrolling the streets.
What he did is certainly not condoned by any police department, and he may lose or job for it.
Cops are allowed to use physical force to stop a person from assaulting them. She began assaulting him, and he immediately reacted to stop the assault.
Should he have dropped her on her head and shot her with a taser?
She is the drunken fool who attacked another person. She got what was coming to her. He defended himself and then she was arrested.
Here is a clue for those of you who think you get to hit a cop because he is a cop. If you assault a person and are struck in order to halt your attack, you get what you deserve even if you lose some teeth. If you don't want to be hit, it's EXTEMELY simple, don't hit another person first.
"But he's a cop. I should be allowed to hit him, because he's a cop. I'm a little thing that shouldn't be touched. It's my right that I can hit someone else. I'm entitled."
Interesting to see so many supporters in the comments. Usually people are always "You should never hit a woman no matter what!", but given her actions and our time of living in equality I find it totally justified. And to think that she's a nurse.
Totally agree with you. Officer gave her a piece of her own action as reaction.
Got what she deserved. Not even the first time she's been arrested for drunken assault. I'm sure she'll get fired from her nursing job and maybe she'll have a chance to reevaluate her life now
