Good to hear there is a campaign to repeal this horrible and backwards law .

We need law and order in this state .

---
Ben Bergquam, a spokesman for the referendum campaign, said those efforts to “undermine” the federal government amount to “sedition.”

“It’s lawless. It’s politicians protecting criminal illegals at the expense of law-abiding citizens,” he said. “It’s a slap in the face to American sovereignty and the citizens of our country.”

Proponents have until Jan. 3, 2018, to collect signatures from at least 365,880 registered voters. If they are successful, the referendum will appear on the November 2018 ballot, where voters will be asked whether or not to uphold SB 54. Bergquam said the campaign has no major funders yet, but it is reaching out to law enforcement groups that oppose the law.

If that happens we will all watch California's economy suffer. Conservatives always talk about 'safety concerns' and 'lawlessness' but little do they realize that most criminals are American citizens.

Calif. Democrats with their total hatred for Trump passed this law as a big "up yours" to Trump. I haven't read anything of Trump giving Calif. any help with the northern Calif. fires. I wonder why.

I'd the sanctuary state laws get repealed it will cause the CA economy to suffer? How so? Labor markets will equalize.

By the way, 100% of Illegal aliens broke the law. Not all Americans broke the laws. Nobody is saying we shouldn't go after American criminals. Not sure what your point is.

It is true that the overwhelming majority of criminals especially bangers are US citizens, but I don't think a repeal of the sanctuary state law will affect the economy. It will have no effect at all on legal immigrants and just will turn the status quo back a few months.

While I think repeal of the sanctuary state law will have no effect on crime it will strengthen the rule of law in California. The Constitution does not give states the power to make immigration laws.

The funny thing is, those who are against the sanctuary states, are usually the first to holler about state's rights.

So, are you into more government? Federal government interfering in your state rights?

Can't have it both ways.
