Unfortunately this is a fact of life when you are gay and are born into a fundamentalist family. I have lost a decade of my life and my prime young adult years to conversion therapy and the closet because of my family. People who have never been in this kind of situation don't understand how difficult it is. If the child is strong-willed, they can separate from their family and be done with it. However, fundamentalist circles strongly push "breaking the will of the child" during early childhood so that they will remain submissive into adulthood. That puts children who end up being gay in such a situation in a major pickle.

Heh... it's like we time traveled 50 years into the past. It was still wrong then, even though that attitude was more prevalent then.
.
Reminds me of that movie (J. Edgar hoover) with Tom Hanks where when he was young, he was told by his mother "I would rather have a dead son, than a daffodil of a son"

Dear god.

Here's to hoping dad spends the next 50 years rotting in prison. He'll spend most of his life in isolation, too. Prison has it's own set of rules, and child-killers are probably at the top of the list of people who get beaten daily if not killed.

Have you finally taken responsibility for your life and moved out? Let go of that anchor and move on.

I'd say getting a rope would be more appropriate, what a sorry excuse for a father.

Now that would be a real waste of taxpayers money keeping him fed and cared for and housed. I would rather use that money for zoo animals. One bullet behind the neck and send a bill to his family.....__

Exactly. I'm insulted that my tax dollars go to the permanent care and keeping of that POS.

Good point. If a gun wasn't readily available then, maybe, this young man would still be alive. What a horrible story. BUT, I blame society and a certain culture for this more than the gun. Of course you will inevitable, cut out that part and call me an anti-gun liberal, marxist, progressive, socialist... Did I get that right?

Such a sad story and picture of certain cultures.

I just spent a little time with my friend DDG, and couldn't find an update or any mention of a trial. Very curious about outcome of this.
