Possibly or the father would have beaten the boy to death. Or hired someone to do it or any number of things. Any POS that would shoot his own child is capable of anything.

Didn't read the story but if that was his only son then I could see the frustration with your gene's not being passed on. That would be hard to get over as a parent but murder is overkill though IMO. Poor kid man.

needless to say he might have a hard time in prison.
