Poll: Views of Democratic Party hit lowest mark in 25 years - CNNPolitics

Of course, we all knew this already. Reasons? Causes?

I'd say primarily, their nonsensical approach to immigration and seemingly defense of illegal immigration over the concerns of American citizens.

They went from the party of and for the working man to the party of get out of my way you deplorable there is money to be made and votes to get from the illegal aliens.

Lucky for us last year enough people saw that the future of America was bleak if we stayed on the same course set down by Obama.
Yes Trump was a gamble but Hillary was a sure thing of deceit, scandal and destruction.

The Democrats used to represent the blue collar worker back in the day.

Today they represent the progressives putting so much emphasis on social issues.

If you go on to read the article, it also says that only 30 percent of Americans (according to the survey method used by the CNN poll) have a favorable view of the Republican party, which is an even lower percentage than those with a favorable view of the Democratic party.

The real story is that people are increasingly displeased with both major parties and more and more people are registering as Independent or Unaffiliated. I know OP didn't write the headline title, but the impression it gives doesn't do a good job of depicting the bigger picture.

Wait, that poll has the Dems at 37% approval and the Republicans at 30%. I mean one is bad and the other is much worse. Obviously faith in our democracy is at a low point. Welcome to 2017.

Most likely true, Then again the GOP is not exactly looking good these days either. Me thinks a Large number of Americans are sick of both the Republicans and Democrats, they spend more time attacking each other, running for re-election, and pandering to Lobbyists, to do their job. We get the government we deserve

Yup! And this has been going on for quite some time, with a massive number of folks now identifying as unaffiliated.

As a nation we are identifying less with political parties, which is not a bad thing at all.
