It probably is. It is motivated by a high-profile, spiteful man running for an important national office and whose very private behavior contradicts his political message. Any responsible journalist would cover that political story. The even better (or perhaps shameful) story is the insane excuse Jim Zeigler proferred to defend Roy Moore, and the sad reality that some people, including people who post here, accept the tripe Zeigler and friends are serving.

Default PBS Newshour Tonight with Brooks' and Shields' Commentary about Moore

Recommended viewing from two of the best political commentators in the business. David Brooks is a conservative republican columnist for the New York Times, but he had some scathing things to say about Roy Moore. There's also some encouraging remarks they both made, about the true meaning of the Democratic success in the recent elections.

Brooks suggested the same thing I have, that even if Moore is elected, the members of the Senate will probably refuse to seat him.

Watch the 12-minute excerpt from the program here, or read the transcript:

Alabama lost the head of all three branches of its government to scandal in the past year and half, but never at the hands of voters.

Former House Speaker Mike Hubbard won reelection to his seat months after being indicted on 23 felony corruption charges, and was then re-elected Speaker by 99 out of 105 members.

Former Gov. Robert Bentley was finally forced to resign after trying to tamp down a sex and ethics scandal.

Moore himself was suspended as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court in 2016 after refusing to comply with the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling. But that didn’t stop Alabama Republicans from making him their Senate nominee a year later.

After reading the article it's quite obvious that this is a hit piece. No allegations like this were reported for his entire career in the public eye, then all of a sudden 4 women come out all at the same time to the same liberal newspaper detailing 40 year old stories right before a critical election. Not buying it.

The reporters found these women, they didn’t go to the press on their own. This is pretty well-documented and you need to stop peddling misinformation here.

Yeah, and how did the reporters know the names of these women so that they could find them?

You can research these topics on your own. It isn’t difficult. All the best.

Roy Moore has been on a crusade against same-sex parents for the past couple of decades. He insisted he had the emotional well-being of children at heart. Now I wonder if his zealotry is mere projection of his own failings onto same-sex parents.

You would be better off admitting that you haven't the faintest idea.

Deflection doesn’t work. Peddle your misinformation elsewhere. Hope this helps.

It's an astounding thing to be proactive in finding answers to questions. It's right there in the original article, the one your claiming is false, but haven't even bothered to read.
