It was not a rape but it was a molestation. The low life still doesn’t deserve to serve in the senate. Seems like the Republicans can overlook anything as long as their a Republican. Let’s face it, seems like they would rather have a screwed up guy and child molester in office than a Democrat. That’s messed up. I guess this is what we’ve come to. Party over country....
How about a 49 year old man and a 22 year old woman?
Both adults, who cares what they do as long as it is consensual. A 14 year old IS NOT an adult which is why it is considered statutory rape if someone 18 or older has sex with someone who is 14 even if it is consensual.
But one of the main foundations for the US justice system is that someone is to be assumed innocent until proven guilty in court, so that means, in these cases, we SHOULD assume all the victims are wrong, or lying, etc? Doesnt that go hand in hand with assuming them innocent?
I do not think all these revelations will change anything though, hollywood has been like this for decades, probably not going to change anytime soon, they will just get better at hiding it.
Im sure it will be addressed at the next Bohemian Grove meeting!
The presumption of innocence doesn't go that far. However there has to be some ability to cross-examine the accuser. The Sixth Amendment to the Constitution states:

No matter how "scared" an accuser may be he or she must still plead his or her case and prove it, beyond a reasonable doubt.
When they were "molested" they may have been starstruck. They may have "decided" they were abused after listening to the drumbeat of news.

Great reply to a really awful thing to say. Blame the victim is still popular amongst the Neanderthal crowd, but these folks are going to learn, the easy way or the hard way, that its illegal to sexually molest someone against their will.

It may be HIGHLY inappropriate, but a 14 yr old is not exactly 'child molestation' territory.
Yes, and I believe some states, it is 15, but really, not much difference physically or mentally between a 14 and 16 yr old. To see the word 'child molestation' being thrown around when its a 14 or even 16 yr old is a slap in the face to real child molestation victims imo.
