“It’s just sort of a cesspool in which these people stew in and then some go on to commit violence,” said Heidi Beirich, who works at the Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit that tracks hate groups. “From our perspective, less of this propaganda is better.”
The world would be far better place without people that would deny the holocaust like this woman or the people that would be on a site like Stormfront. On the other hand acceptance of denying them free speech is a very slippery slope.
So in order to make sure people understand how bad Nazi Germany was, they do the exact same thing to her that Nazi Germany did?
As she is highly unlikely to be either gassed or starved and worked to death in a concentration camp, I would say that's a bit of an exaggeration, and a pretty offensive one, at that.

There is two fundamental things that are always present with regimes like the Nazi's, Stalin etc. They control speech and control guns, it's no coincidence these are the first and second amendments to the US Constitution.
I agree that they should just laugh them off as dumb inbreds, like we do here.
But as some here are so frequently saying, “not my country so who cares?”
I’m very glad we have the first amendment, but most of the people on the planet do not have free speech rights. People in other countries get jailed and worse every day, so why single out Germany?

They are ashamed of the fact that they gave rise to the Nazis, and passed laws to prevent a recurrence. If she had been wearing a swastika or flying a flag with a swastika she would have received a minimum of two years.
Germany knows how to treat their Nazis. We should pay attention in America and follow suit.
A lot of people here don't seem to remember WWII, because they simply don't want to. They need a strong reminder.
So, you're advocating putting people in prison for expressing an opinion? Should we also imprison all the nuts out there wearing Che Guevara t-shirts? Many, many more people have been killed in the name of communism, although any extremist ideology is disgusting.
