Epic fail. The murder rate in the Netherlands is 0.61 murders/100K people. The state with the lowest murder rate is New Hampshire at 1.1 murders per 100K people. So, even in the lowest murder rate state, you are almost twice as likely to be murdered as in the Netherlands.

Do you know what it's like to be so wrong? Now you know.

Is the murder rate lower because in tiny homogeneous nations their is less division and diversity? In other words, if you cram a bunch of people with different beliefs and interests and force them to interact with one another, force them to take turns imposing their personal wills upon each other by secret ballot or some such nonsense, are you more likely to have them killing each other? Wouldn't the murder rate be far smaller if the group was limited to a smaller group with similar beliefs and interests?

These days there is a good amount of diversity in the Netherlands. And the state with the 2nd lowest murder rate - Hawaii - is pretty diverse. I don't even think there is a majority race.

I live in one of safest suburbs of Dallas. The rate is still higher than the AVERAGE for Holland.

So, tell me how being 2.7 times more likely to be murdered with a gun is a good thing...
I don't enter those neighborhoods. A certain segment is responsible for most of the homicides.

Fantastic. Now what do you propose to do about the murder rate?

I think you should ask Haakon that question, not me.
