So I'll ask again, what would it take for you guys to abandon him because it seems that no matter what he does defend him till the end
I told you in my first post. Actually doing something illegal or intentionally DOING SOMETHING that actually harms this country or its people.

Politically incorrect words, the media and anti Trumper twisting words and context, making up what ifs, and hatred from the left isnt going to do it.

Talking What would it take for Trump's base to abandon him?

If tRump told those lemmings to convert to Islam, they'd get korans and head to the nearest mosque.

"Cliff? What cliff? Fake news!"

Have you read the odes to the Dear Leader posted on a daily basis in this forum? Some are almost comical in their dishonesty--more like satire. Some are slavishly obsequious and difficult to believe posters are not paid. Every once in a while a non-cult member will be honest and admit that he or she supports Trump despite the fact that he is an obnoxious liar and not all that bright--but that is quite rare.

These are not critical thinkers posting adulation and slavish devotion to a con artist and former reality show host. These are truly devoted cult members. They become personally and emotionally offended and defensive if Trump is criticized. This is not normal. It is not a question of whether it is a cult. The question is how is it not a cult?

And, please try to leave Obama and Hillary out of your explanation--that is just another cult tactic. Blame it on people who haven't been around for a year.

This is about the bloviator in chief alone.
Again your saying those who DO NOT continually criticize, badmouth and revel in what ifs are cult members. Pretty typical of the anti trump people. You take ordinary people who lend support to the current president as they have previous presidents whether they agree with his policy or not or him personally or not and call them cultists and dishonest while the rabid left anti trumpers are grasping at straws looking for and creating the most irrelevant and far reaching offenses while constantly belittling, name calling and showing blatant disrespect for our highest office. If the charges were not so ridiculous perhaps people would not be so eager to defend but its like watching someone kick and kick and kick a stray dog. Eventually your going to stand up to defend it.

In reading this thread I've yet to read any real reason to abandon him. No one has given anything other than past locker room talk and twisting reality or imaginary situations they contrived in their head, none of which are illegal acts or acts that endanger the physical or economic well being of America. What would it take for you haters to to stop with the crucifying and give him a chance?

It would take him having decent ideas where the math works out and working with the GOP Congress to do Good Things...and, of course, if these things are Good, a number of Dems will jump in.

But that is so far from any reality that it is closer to Mother Goose. He's not a policy wonk - he is a "know nothing" and he has surrounded himself with Swamp Things. It's almost impossible to make good policy just by luck (while you are golfing or tweeting)....

So that's what it would take. Let's see the health plan that will cost MUCH less, cover everyone and go into force on Day One - the same Day of the ACA repeal?

Let's see a balanced budget.
Let's see cuts in defense. Let's see a work horse not a show horse.

Perhaps be more specific. He has attempted to replace the mess of a healthcare plan, revamp the tax code, reduce illegal immigration. What "good things" are you referring to. I do hope you are aware that the president is not the king. It takes both congress and senate, republicans and democrats to get things done.

This is your personal opinion on his character so not really relevant to the question.

So he needs to work miracles as no other president has. He needs to force repubs and democrats to come up with workable plans and agree to everything in less than one year. Immediately, actually. Has any other president been able to do as much, get the house to balance the budget, come up with affordable health care for everyone all on day one.

My healthcare plan is actually better for 2018.

I'm pretty happy all in all, I didn't even vote for Trump in 2016, but the way things are going so far...I would in 2020. I take it year by year though.

25% of his backers already abandoned him if we compare the popular vote to his current approval.

But the Bell Curve tells us that it will get harder and harder for him to go down below 35% - we pretty much have culled out most reasonable people and those left don't care much what he does or doesn't do.
