Don't give the states block grants. Stop taking money from the states in the first place, and let the states (a) keep the money, and (b) resume regulating medicine. In other words, why not get the federal government back out of the healthcare business?

Why do the states allow the federal government to take all their citizens' money so the feds can re-allocate it to wherever they are going to get the most votes?

Look up the definition of a federal government's responsibilities. National defense of stated borders, maintain a common currency, determine who can enter the country, safeguard interstate commerce, protect the lives and rights of its citizens, and provide a last ditch safety net for disasters and those in such dire need that no other resource can meet that need.

For those who think the feds should regulate medicine, please show me a federal license to practice medicine. There isn't one. States used to regulate the practice of medicine, not the feds. Obamacare changed that in 2010 by regulating who would fund the delivery of medicine - until such system was so broken that the feds would have to step in as the single payer.

Where in the definition of a nation-state does it say that the national government is responsible for providing food, water or medical care to its citizens? It doesn't.

Those willing to surrender their personal responsibility to care for themselves and their families to the government also surrender their right to complain about the level of service they receive in return. That applies to both the state and federal level. The latter will be worse than the former, and neither tend to meet even the lowest expectations. But they'll sure take your money to try.
Great post.

The reason this doesn't work is because states cannot afford the necessary HC supports for their people. Just adding up any state's Medicare spending will about equal that state's total annual budget. Then you've got Medicaid with all its necessary supports, and the rest of the working and paying public. Many of whom need subsidies as well.

BO's signature remains on it. Actually President Trump has done little to nothing with it other than try to get it repealed.
