The numbers: Initial weekly jobless claims fell by 15,000 to 243,000 in early October to mark the lowest level in six weeks. Economists polled by MarketWatch had forecast claims to total 250,000.

Trump could be president for 30 years with the greatest economy in the history of the world, and they would still try and say the economy was due to Obama lol.

Technically the main problem in regards to employment is stagnant wages in relation to a rising and spiraling out of control cost of living in major cities,

Anyone who has taken an introduction to economics course in college can (or should) be able to tell you unemployment number alone means nothing.
First and foremost US government only counts persons actively looking for work. If you are some basement dweller who is unemployed and spends your time playing video games and raiding your mommy's fridge instead of actively looking for work, you are *NOT* counted as unemployed.

Though layoffs are still happening, it is no where near as bad as things were say back in 2008 or 2009.
Finally quoting entire US population means nothing as well either.
The only numbers of total population that would matter for this story are those who fit into the demographics of working adults (roughly 18-65) who again are "actively looking for employment" This leaves out a large portion of the US population who are either minors, in college, seniors, permanently disabled, stay at home wives/mothers, etc...
