imo, if the prosecutors have exculpatory evidence in a case, if they withhold it, intentionally or not, they should be paying a heavy price for that crime.
I'd settle for them getting the maximum sentence of the crime the defendant is accused of. Same for people that make false claims of rape or sexual assault.
I would bet the great majority of innocent black inmates are doing time in place of another black man. Black crime rates are atrocious. Let’s address the causes instead of ignoring the problem.
Great majority??? are you freakin serious? I swear some of you just say stuff for the sake of saying it. There are definitely cases but cmon a majority...?
I always hear people say, its better for 1000 guilty people to go free than for one innocent person to go to prison, and yet this kind of thing happens all the time, its happened quite a bit in the past...how is the DOJ still in power? Why are we still allowing this same system to go on doing what its been doing for so long?
I could understand if it was one or two people, the system would be at fault there but after so many, it becomes the fault of the people, for allowing this same system to operate in the same way.
FWIW, cases like this is why I do not believe our country should have a death penalty. Even one innocent person being killed for a crime they didn't commit is one too many.
So sorry this man's life has been basically stolen by the criminal justice system.
Cases like this and a plethora of others is why I truly believe that our criminal justice system is the primary place today where systematic racism and classicism still exist
