“The bill that’s going to get passed is not going to take care of the American people. It’s a disgrace,” Mr. Louro said in a phone interview. He had resigned from his post as a fund-raiser via email earlier in the day, he said.

“The Republican Party took control of the government against all odds, and the bottom line is” they messed up, he said, using an expletive. “It’s a disgrace. It’s going to hurt a lot of middle-class Republicans.”

It's a shame we can't convince Republican voters how much Republicans don't care about them.

Did you read the whole article? This has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with economics This is what it's really all about...

From the NYT - "The tax legislation has proved particularly contentious in New York, since both the Senate and House versions of the bill would scrap state and local tax deductions. As a result, seven of nine New York Republicans in the House voted against the bill."

Politically Trump and the GOP have no loyalty to the blue states

This all grandstanding anyway. If they really cared about giving these people a break they would LOWER the local taxes. They don't want to give them a break. If they can't write off the super high taxes then the state can't raise the taxes more for their pet projects. That's what this is all about. It's not the bill, it's the fact that it takes away their higher taxing power.

Republicans who live by me do not like this tax bill. Then again, most "people" understand that neither party care about them. Only a small percentage of people believe that either party actually cares about them. They just vote for the party that supports what they believe in most. Only delusional people believe that either Republicans or Democrats actually care about the "people". They only care about their donors, money, power and votes.

I agree.

Some of the people who lean right and lean left have common ground.
