Funny thing is that I have a leftist friend who is constantly having to defend the President (a man he dislikes greatly) against loony, leftist attacks; he is a leftist, but is fed up with this new left that we are seeming taking over the Dem Party/left movement today.
Only to the rabid, racist left would President Trump's attacking of athletes who kneel/speak out during national anthem be seen as racial. When you look at the President's Tweets and statements, he does seem to be calling out mostly black athletes. But, let's get real: black athletes are the most vocal (also, numerically speaking, black athletes are overwhelmingly the ones kneeling during the anthem) forces behind this protest against what they deem to be about racial injustice. This is the folly behind the left's disparate impact nonsense. Imbalance in race doesn't automatically point to racist treatment, etc.
You even see it with people calling out the President for daring to criticize LaVar Ball's ungrateful behind https://www.politico.com/story/2017/...thletes-258396 We've come to the point among the left (thankfully, much of the country is fighting back against this crap) where to criticize anyone who is black (or rather who is not white) is racist or has subtle racial undertones
