This is ironic, considering that the US did just that to the border states, they were part of Mexico and were majority Mestizo and Amerindian, and then we conquered them in war. I bring this up since you live in California, a border state
What part of "were" don't you get? The U.S. paid Mexico $15 million for those southwestern territories and that doesn't nullify the fact that we had already adopted English as our de facto national language and had an identifying national culture (the melting pot). All other cultures were and are minority ones that didn't and aren't joining the melting pot. You are comparing an illegal invasion in modern times with internationally recognized borders to that?
I disagree completely Arab countries these days are like 10-30% Arab and the rest are immigrants yet you wouldn't mistake them for a country that doesn't have Arabic culture. Texas is associated with White "country" people and hasn't been majority white since 2004/2005 or so.
Hawaii has never been majority-white in it's history and no one there can say they aren't American.
What does race have to do with culture? They are two entirely different things.
Diversity has never caused problems for me. People who have treated me badly, however, habe been much more of a problem. I have been around diverse crowds. I was around many international students in college. Diversity never caused me any problems. I hear many people saying things like "diversity is a crock" or "diversity sucks",etc. That was never my experience. And just to keep the perspective on th is topic, that diversity includes those of European background. I've met people from Nigeria, Scotland, England, Japan, Ecuador, Russia, Kenya, India, South Korea, Poland, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Ivory Coast, Canada,China, New Zealand, etc. Diversity has never been a negative for me. I met some very nice people. I've also met a few jerks (I've met my share of jerks within my own ethnicity). Over all, I don't have a problem. What I notice a large amount of are people who complain because people of different races and ethnicities are here. And yes, I know that race, ethnicity, and culture are different things. I'm not SJW. And no, I'm not pro-illegals. I'm just someone who is not scared of being around alot of people who are a different race/ethnicity as me.
For those who speak so badly of diversity, who have so much against it, answer this question. How would diversity harm me? I'm not talking about illegals because that is a whole other problem that can be discussed separately. I'm talking about people being of different races and ethnicities living and mingling in the same nation. How would it be harmful to me? Last I checked, I'm part of the diversity of this country.
In my area, there has ALWAYS been lots "Diversity".
Caribou, ME - 98.2% White
You were saying?

Yeah, see, they're white, English-speaking people from Maine.
I'm also descended from French-speakers; it doesn't make me any less of the white, English-speaking American majority.

When the state and provincial governments went shopping on the international market for immigrants to help settle the area further, they did not look for Diversity. They looked for hard working people. That's what they got, in the Swedes and Danish (many did not speak English either).
Also today's white English-speaking ppl.

Don't forget the Native Americans. They came from all over eastern North America to help with harvest (read "Travels with Charlie").
Like most Diversity worshipers, it appears that you think you know it all.
Ah yes. You're less than 2% Native American. Real model of diversity, that Maine.
That nearly 3 out of 100 is an invasion by them and they must be stopped, probably should remove those already there, after all you know it just leads to issues.
