There are still ghettos full of black people because of liberals. .
Well, this is about like saying that most black folks don't have 40 acres and a mule.
Republicans (example: SC) tend to build gated communities with security and (often) high prices. With a new worth of 1/10th or less of the average American and having had their mule and 40 acres reneged upon, I wouldn't expect black folks to be filling up "Gold's Landing" or any other exclusive community.
This has to go down as one of the most profound statements ever on CD. Poor people need to live in small cheap houses. Wow. Maybe a Nobel Prize is in order?
I suspect there are huge generational differences when it comes to discussing or even understanding diversity. My millennial kids have very different thoughts and attitudes about diversity and inclusion than I do, and good for them. The WaPo has an interesting take on it.
"However, millennials are broadening the horizons of diversity by thinking about it in different terms. Millennials are 32% more likely to focus on respecting identities of individuals. They’re also 35% more likely to focus on unique experiences, and 29% more likely to focus on ideas, thoughts, and opinions. To a millennial, a worker isn’t important to a diversity program because they can fill a quota, but rather because they can bring a unique viewpoint and unique experiences to the table. They’re interested in subjective, personal identities, rather than what boxes you can check on a job application."
Just watch television advertising...except for the pharmaceutical ads aimed at boomers, most advertising today is aimed at the youngest boomers and increasingly the millennials, and they are far more diverse than anything we would have seen in the 80's or 90's.
Right, there definitely wasn't and isn't widespread, well-documented discrimination in employment, housing, etc.
Yes, we all realize things were great for white Christians. They were not great for everybody else.
If it was so great and everybody prospered, why do we still have ghettos filled with black people?
What makes an area a ghetto? Is it the high crime, lack of maintenance and dysfunctional behavior that make it that way or is it oppression from White people? And if White people made it that way then why do poor White neighborhoods also have blight and dilapidation? Are they also oppressed by White people?
Funny, if you are truly from Maine, as your post indicates. Maine is one of the white (perhaps THE whitest), least diverse states in the U.S. Which would lead me to believe that, contrary to what you say, there hasn't always been a lot of diversity there, at least in terms of race, and you really aren't in a reasonable position to weigh in on whether it's a "crock."
There are still ghettos full of black people because of liberals. They want a dependent class of voters, so they do not implement policies that promote independence and upward mobility. Power is more important to liberals than actually helping the people they claim to champion. The best example is the left's dogmatic opposition to school choice.
Aren't black people responsible for their own actions? Or do liberals control Black people's minds? If liberals offer social welfare programs to Blacks, does it mean that they are forced to sign up?
In my area, there has ALWAYS been lots "Diversity". But they didn't care about that, back in the old days. It was a meaningless term to them. Even just fifty-sixty years ago.
All that DID matter was working hard and making money, whatever your ethnic background (and church, for most of them). When that's all you're focused on, then people get along great. And everybody prospers, oddly enogh.
Today, this phony push for "Diversity" has pushed all of that aside.
60 years ago it was all about whites making money and prospering while preventing blacks from doing the same. Blacks were fighting hard for civil rights...being physically assaulted, raped and even being killed.
Yea getting along great alright. You don’t like the diversity that came about because everyone was finally provided the opportunities that whites were even though others had to fight so much longer and harder for them. Very telling...

Even that's iffy, wasn't all that long ago 'Help Wanted' signs in windows of businesses would also contain statements like 'No Irish Need Apply' and many other ethnicities had their turn in that same barrel.

Diversity doesn't only apply to ethnicity. Sixty years ago, women held just six percent of management positions in business. (We're up to a whopping 24 percent now. Still a long way to go.)
How's that for your mythical "diversity is phony and unnecessary" meme? And it had nothing to do with "working hard," it had to do with being blocked from being allowed to compete at all. Just as just about everyone who wasn't a white male was in your rosy 50-60 years ago mythical world.
Stick to topics that you know something about. You're just embarrassing yourself here.
