I'm trying to understand the logic here. Because Frank (and many others) were wrong about the financial crisis before it happened, that means that the Dodd/Frank bill was wrong too?

It was wrong because it was wrong. We should have simply reinstated Glass/Steagal. Problem solved. Instead we created a law that institutionalized too big to fail. We created rules and regulations that drove the small banks out of business.

There were many reasons the crash occurred and they do not disappear with the reinstatement of Glass Steagal. If there are bad underwriting standards, lack of reserves will remain an issue if Dodd Frank went away. The problem was far from just investment banks.

People have bad memories when it comes to 2009.

Many of the reasons do not dissapear but the size of the problem does.

The reality is that the CFPB reins in Wall Street firms that cheat and defraud consumers. They've gotten back billions to consumers.

You said that the bureau is corrupt and a money launderer. Why don't you go notify the FBI?

If you are for draining the swamp, this agency does just that. It's exactly why Republicans in power don't like it -- including Trump.
ITA with this. It is interesting that they want to destroy an agency that has a record of actually helping consumers. Shows that the business community is just as bad as they view traditional public servants/government IMO. Everyone wants to get away with whatever con that they are "for" in regards to sticking it to the public.

that's the problem. that agency has returned funds ripped off from ordinary citizens instead of funneling them to the 1%.

Mick will now get back to enriching the wealthy at the expense of the middle class.

it still amazes me that the very people who benefitted from this agency now say it should have its hands tied, or worse, be done away with.

guess 'stupid' has no bottom.

Trump be one smart cookie. He nailed her for claiming Indian heritage when she had none, and nailed her for creating CFPB. And all in one day.
She won't recover.
lol. only in your mind. nobody outside the extremist right wing believes a word of these threads.

we get it, trump is trying to install Mick Mulvaney (goldman sachs) to run the CFPB. Why? because trump has handed his entire admin to goldman sachs, and has put goldman employees in charge of the FEC and now the CFPB.

Trump is the swamp, he conned you guys and continues to make fools of his supporters. Most of whom are low information and brainwashed by decades of listening to and watching right wing drama queens.

You say conned, but many are no different than Obama and Hillary and believe what is good for G.S. is good for the country.

Thanks for pointing out what up to now has been an under reported story about the banking ties.
