Well Israel seems to have found another option. It's not perfect but it's a lot better.
Well, Israel is a special case as it is an artificially-created state that uses force against natives to create a comfortable life for its chosen people, er, preferred inhabitants.

Who mostly kill each other rather than do anything productive. Would Israel be better off being like Libya?
At least a similar tragedy was avoided in Syria, with Russia coming in to help Assad take back the country from US backed ISIS/YPG/FSA that wanted to do the same thing like in Libya and Iraq.
The US was the only game in town in the 90s and early 00s and could overthrow whatever government it wanted. Now Russia is back to balance things out.
Glenn Reynolds is the owner of Instapundit, a highly respected blog, one of the first blogs from back in the early 2000s. He is a law professor and is highly intelligent. In fact, he is a Beauchamp Brogan Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee College of Law.
I know the liberals won't like that, but the fact remains, he is extremely respected by MSM, even CNN, where I first saw him many years ago, and it prompted me to start my own blog that I ran for 10 years. The left can cry and make excuses, but they will never be smarter than Reynolds.
Fact: Hillary did joke about "we came, we saw, he died" in regards to Gaddafi.
Fact: After toppling Gaddafi, all hell broke loose in the region.
Fact: Africans are being sold as slaves.
The plug has been pulled. The slow, circling down the drain is beginning.
No, thank the EU for the policy over the last year that created this slave market.
I was just reading today, in a newspaper whose name I will not mention, that this is really all the EU's fault.
The contention, in simple terms, is that sub-Saharan Africans are flooding into North Africa on their way to Europe, but since Europe has slowed down its intake of African immigrants, they end up in camps on the Libyan coast making them vulnerable to unscrupulous incipient Libyan slave marketeers.
Care is a strong word. I think "jealous" is the word you were looking for.
