Correct, she lives in Adam Schiff's district, which doesn't even border her district (Karen Bass' district is in between Schiff's and Waters'. )

I do think a Latino Dem could run against Waters and win, but not a Republican of any background.

Exactly.

If Trump had run for Congress instead of the Presidency, do you think he would have been able to beat his incumbent Congresswoman, Carolyn Maloney? The 12th District of New York is D+31.

(If he had run he would have had to run on a very different platform than the one he ran for the presidency on. )

The extreme right don't "hate" black conservatives such as Alan Keyes, Herman Cain and J.C. Watts. So, again, claiming they "hate" someone because of his/her race is ridiculous.

The extreme right definitely hates J. C. Watts, whom they call a "****" and a "globalist" for being pro-free trade and pro-school choice.

She'll win no matter the GOP candidate.

Even though you all on the right hate her, you have actually given her a boost with all the conservative media roasting of her amongst a lot of people. I had forgotten how funny and entertaining she is until you all started messing with her.

I'm glad she is still herself and I highly doubt she will lose to anyone if she is running again.

But FWIW I do think she needs to retire. I think all politicians should retire by age 73.

I agree on the bold.

You all forget the DACA issues earlier this year and that we are talking about California here. They are not going to vote for any GOP congressperson in that district.

So when do Sheriff Joe and the guy from Swamp People start going door to door for this Republican? I'm sure they will be greeted warmly by people in her district. Is Hank Williams Jr. available? That would be some serious star power!

I guess the thought is that if they can siphon off some votes from the South Bay cities on the border of South Central LA along with Latinos voting para La Raza it can be done. Only no Latino Democratic Party insider will go after a set aside for the Blacks seat, even if local Latinos outnumber Blacks two to one, so Representative Waters is likely in office until she dies.
