Can men now start turning women in for their catty backstabbing in the work place?

It was unknown at the time that Fox settled one allegation against O' Reilly for $ 32 million. 32 Million ! This is well beyond a frivolous, unsubstantiated claim.

Shareholders subsequently sued Fox for not disclosing secret settlements and this suit was subsequently settled, too.

Good riddance. I never did like Matt Lauer and he came across to me as prissy, yet a jerk at the same time.

He should have been gone a long time ago after the way he treated Ann Curry.

Women as a whole haven't done anything about the root cause itself--which is that women as a whole have a double standard of behavior and beliefs themselves and have allowed the objectification of women to escalate ever since the sexual revolution. There is a definite double standard. Women cluck cluck over Matt Lauer and various other men's jokes or groping but then turn around and pose naked on magazine covers and make money off of their own objectification. News flash: Men wouldn't be able to go to Hooters if there weren't women willing to work there. Men wouldn't be able to indulge in countless porn magazines and internet porn if there weren't women willing to make money off of it. Women are willing to marry men who are known to have been cheaters and abusers because they are going to get taken care of. Many, many women were willing to put up with a comment and grope here or there to make it big in Hollywood.

We haven't heard from these women. We haven't heard any women with the guts to come forward and say, "Yeah, I put up with the comments and gropings because I made money off of it."
It isn't ok to grope anyone, even if they objectify themselves or make money off their looks. If some women put up with it, it still doesn't make it right! And what goes on in entertainment and Hollywood has nothing to do with women working in everyday jobs, who also deal with harassment. What does a stripper or porn actor and their sexualized environment have to do with a woman working as a programmer, a retail worker, a nurse?

Stop with blaming all women for what some women do. Some men are so focused on hot chicks they can never have, that they are blinded. MOST women cannot make money off their looks, only certain aesthetically gifted ones can. And not all of them do.

Why not require women to wear a burqua and make it illegal for men and women to be educated, employed, shop, dine and worship side by side because men choose to blame women instead of taking responsibility for their own behaviors?

Inappropriate sexual behavior in the work place is a choice.
Lol not me, just pointing out a possible unintended consequence

I've got to say, I am enjoying all the folks who have been happily destroying the lives of other public figures who had a mere wiff of misconduct, whether legitimate or not, get a taste of their own medicine. Bunch of hypocrites.
This. You are one of the more sensible moderators here, aren't you? Keep up the good work.

Interestingly it was NBC along with the rest of the MSM that has tried to establish as a society norm that accusation = guilt. This was most notable in Ferguson where the network pushed that as hard as they could, only to later discover that it was all made up by the accusers.

Now it has backfired and taken one of their own before he has had his day in court.

(In Laurer's case we will never know because it's very unlikely this would be adjudicated in Brazil)
Noteworthy. We'll be watching.

Seemed as fake as everything else on that network.
That's exactly what I'd seen on FOX 360 this morning, but on the radio heard Guthrie add the statement concerning the victim on the radio, which may have been piled on as the morning crept along. She is slithery.

Are you referring to Natalie Morales?

She and family relocated to LA when she replaced Billy Bush on Access Hollywood.

If you recall, Billy Bush was fired because of the innapropriate sexual banter with Trump caught on a hot mic.

There were tabloid rumors that she departed after an affair with Lauer ended. She has called the rumors ridiculous.

Reportedly, someone went to NBC HR on Monday night with allegations and Lauer was fired 24 hours later.

I don't watch the show but I remember he replaced Byrant Gumbel. They should have kept Gumbel on.

I think you're right. The NYPost is reporting Matt Lauer allegedly sexually assaulted a staffer during the Olympics....so the timeline of this whole story makes more sense now.

It sounds like NBC was trying to handle it quietly but WaPo and the NYT got wind of the story forcing NBC's hand.
