If he's still alive, I hope he wonders if the other shoe will drop.
The culture of abuse seems to have been systemic.

Some work places do/or did have a loose culture with that stuff.

When did people become so prudish, especially since half of them go home and watch fetish internet porn that shouldn't even be legal and hook up with strangers on Tinder.
I disagree. A workplace where all the men tell sexist jokes that denigrate women, and openly look at nude magazines or porn of women, and exchange comments about women in sexual ways, does create a hostile environment for women.

It's the same way that a workplace can become hostile, if the majority of employees are of a certain color, race or religion, and people are always openly mocking and belittling people of the other races or religions.

But what doesn't make sense is that he's apparently been doing all this stuff over a period of years and only now it's coming to surface. Another thing that doesn't make sense is for someone to do this type of stuff in a workplace environment without fear of disciplinary actions. For this reason obviously there must have been this type of thing going on with most people in that office.

Also what doesn't make sense is how long it's apparently been going on and no one's complained about it until now? Makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

Plus woman could have just said no to the clown and then go and report the wackoff to upper management or even outside legal counsel. That right there would have been a huge lawsuit just waiting to happen, which there were never any lawsuits that we know of.

To much of this story makes no sense. The wackoff dropped his pants and was was giving out sex toys. That right there would be grounds to termination. And no one mentioned it until now? How much time later?

The guy is guilty but the big question remains, how was this type of thing going on for so long if everyone claiming now to be a victim never raised the issues before?

I'm betting that women in that office associated with Lauer were in on it and willing participants as well.
That was an open secret. How is it so difficult to grasp? Corporations often cover for their talent. They have entire legal teams on staff and the victims stand very little chance of vindication and risk the high likelihood of their own reputations being dragged through the mud. He called one complainant into his office and locked the door behind her with the button under his desk.

Lauer’s coworkers were aware of his behavior and it is becoming apparent the higher ups may have been aware as well.

Let me share an example of the corrupt culture that permeates some corporations. This all happened at just one branch of a well regarded Fortune 25 company. A male high level manager took a picture of his penis on a subordinate female’s cell phone. This manager was a pig and everyone knew it. His punishment from corporate was a slap on the wrist, one level demotion and moved to another branch. He was a misogynist and continued his behavior at the new branch, referring to his prior incident as a “boo-boo”. Same branch, top level male manager intentionally trips an older female subordinate (appx 60 yrs old) on a concrete floor, causing severe back injury which resulted in hundreds of thousands surgery. After the attack, he was bumped one level down and moved to another branch. He has since been restored to his original stratus.

This same male had a habit of pushing, bumping off balance, or body slamming female subordinates (he did it to me). There were at least 8 females that opened up about his actions. Despite reporting the behavior, nothing further happened to the male but the females who spoke up were targeted from then on. It is a culture of corruption and those in power are complicit. This is happening all over the country.

What did I say? They knew for decades and opted to do nothing. That was obvious when they didn't go through the process of making an announcement about an investigation and simply cut the cord.

I am happy Lauer is getting his due. I won't miss him. Savannah's rant on how she is coping, dealing with this horsehockey is selfish. Nora Roberts (who I really do not care for previously) and Gayle King were eloquent, clear and carried the 0 tolerance message. Well said, ladies. You both went up a couple notches in my mind. I cannot stand all the cutesy games or stunts or gossip the other stations use for ratings yes, i mean GMA, Today Show, Fox and Friends and Morning Joe - so it looks like it's still CBS.

Absolutely they knew. I wonder if they carried a Lauer Liability Policy. (Joking about policy- but they knew).

An entire bag of sex toys and everyone kept their mouth shut!

Hope his wife will take him to the cleaners!

All this news that the top brass knew about Lauer - yet none of the *******s in the thread said one word indicting them. Instead, they blame the women and tell them to grow a spine.

Just one more reason women will remain silent until there is safety in numbers. They cannot trust that men won't blame them.

Lauer suing for $30 million is a slab in the face of these women! What a low life it a man who did what Lauer did is a low life so now he doubled that part up.

Hopefully the victims will sue and win millions! They deserve it.

Especially for this behavior to be stopped as Lauer can't continue to abuse women at NBC

If that button really exist then anyone who knew about it should be liable too as there is no reason for anyone to have that in a building that has security around the clock.

Btw, Matt Lauer erased himself from social media.

I wonder how much the value decreased for any property Matt owned. His name went from being gold to garbage!

Sexual harassment plus being a rather despicable person no matter what his colleagues say...

Now Ann and Natalie are vindicated.
I'm glad you mentioned Ann Curry. She was a real professional, perhaps so professional that Matt made a pass at her and she didn't go for it so he retaliated, perhaps?

I hope we'll hear from her in the near future, and that maybe she'll return to national news.
