Revenue fell and that was the cause of the added debt. So, in the face of a near depression, should the Democrats have raised taxes or cut government programs, just as Americans needed those programs the most?

Now isn't 2009. Obama handed Trump a fine economy and there is no reason to add even more to the debt than is already projected. Moreover, there is no reason to add even more to the debt to just hand the borrowed money to rich people.
"Revenue fell and that was the cause of the added debt."

Fed spending ALSO went up which added to the debt.

The so-called Stimulus Bill was about $8 billion.

A LOT of the money went to fed agencies.

reid did NOT do a budget because he knew the new stimulus money going to agencies would be eliminated.

Instead reconciliation KEPT the added money going to the agencies.

Some agencies get an automatic 3% increase every year.

When you add the stimulus money their budgets INCREASED EVER year MORE then if they had done a real budget.

Asking for 2 days to read through a bill of this impact should not be a partisan issue but of course "its the dems".
It is good to see you are calling Pelosi a liar.

It is about time!

"You are dismissing George Bush's participation in the debt increase"

That was NOT in the discussion.

We are talking about the MOST RECENT OBAMA admin.

But of you want to go back further in history I will gladly oblige.

Speaking of reading you got something different out of what I wrote. The final bill will be debated this week and the obvious problems and unfairness will be highlighted.

You were claiming that the debt was entirely Obama's problem for his 8 years, he was handed an economy that was losing almost a million jobs a month along with thousands of foreclosures. You don't turn that around over night same for the great depression, but I know you like to cast blame.

Are you talking about the economy that Obama voted for as US Senator?

If you’re a family of three, you break even,” he said. “If you’re a family of four you pay more..http://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2017/10/02/
Any pro family tax credits are temporary. Senior additional exemption is out so anyone over 65 who pays taxes is a wash with the exemption reduction.
Estate tax repeal without repealing the step up basis is a give away only to the top .5% If the idea is to keep the family farm then there would be no problem for the heirs if the land is not sold.

The GOP tax scam means permanent structural deficit increases. Even conservative Forbes calls it an economic policy disaster.

Read it and weep.
