Of course, it’s easier to imagine that this factory just hired illegals because they work cheap. More than likely, they were paying a fair wage through the staffing agency.
Well, the owner should have known right? Just like Trump should have known who all of his subcontractors were hiring?

Staffing agencies are used as the middle man scapegoat and are in cahoots with the companies that they are sending the illegals to. Because some of them are fly by night operations that pop up one week and are gone a year later. They get a cut from the company that they are sending the illegals to.

If these companies didn't try and cheat the system they could just put that money towards hiring regular workers. Pay them a higher wage, and not use a staffing agency at all.

Construction companies do the same thing they know they are getting illegals, they just let an "agency" send them to them.

Very True. There are Indian staffing agencies which file for H-1B visas IT workers. They keep on changing the names and also position of Director will get changed from Husband to Wife to Brother and so on to avoid detection. These things happen in the case of legal workers also.

Wouldn’t a more reasonable explanation be that a foreign company doesn’t want to pay for full human resources apparatus for a remote bakery? That’s far more likely than some nefarious plot to hire illegal immigrants at substandard wages.

LOL my sides! This is the most amusing PC explanation for justifying illegal business practice and illegal immigration I have ever heard!

You support Nike sweat shops in Vietnam then? LOL so much for the whole human rights soap box to stand on! LOL

Oh my... LOL you really want to stand by that?!

Imagine thinking a Chicago bakery that uses a staffing agency for HR and a Vietnamese sweatshop have remotely similar wages or working conditions. That’s quite the leap to make a failed rhetorical point.

Yeah, nothing like using a staffing agency to give you a good arms-length excuse over your hiring practices.

My friend worked for a staffing agency for a few years, lol @ "fair wage".

The common theme there is that various companies like Apple, Nike etc. have been caught using subcontractors that do *bad things* in order to keep costs down and to take the heat if exposed.

I fully agree that sweatshop <> Chicago bakery, but the example of gaming the system to keep down costs is accurate.

"Gosh, we didn't know they were sending us so many illegals"
"We had no idea they were using child labor"
"Suicide nets on the roofs? We thought those were for employee team building activities"

LOL the suicide nets!!! I remember seeing that and saying no way is that real... no really it's legit!!! I was amazed...
Especially what happens after landing in one!

*moves to china* so what's it like over there!? Got a job?
Yeah...
Cool! What do you do?
Asset protection.
What's that?
Oh, I spray suicidal employees looking to jump to their doom with a fire truck hose/cannon, if they manage to jump I go fetch the suicide attmpters from the nets and beat them senseless and spray them with a hose again to get back inside and finish their shift.
