He may be onto something. Some of Trump's most brainwashed followers have formed a cult to rival Charlie Manson's. That's what some remind me of. They too are blind to everything Trump does and refuse to criticize their "leader".
Let's not forget Manson wanted to start a race war too.
Then I guess Obama lovers would fit into that cult too.
The local black religious community. As many people have noted on this forum, contrary to what you all believe, blacks have local leaders that are listened to much moreso than the guys you all think are our leaders on TV (Jesse and Al). lol
Why don't the local black leaders encourage family values, marriage, stable home live, employment, education and not killing each other. Or, do local religious leaders do that and are ignored by their flock? Why? Selective hearing? Is it because it's easier to pass judgement on the white devil than actually do something productive in the community to better your live and family live?
Will note I knew a lot of guys like this one in metro Atlanta - black men who were conservatives and even joined the GOP. They loved GW Bush especially.
The ones I keep in touch with today, they hate Trump and some are also saying they will register as independent in the future. I tell them to stay with the GOP and just hope Trump gets primaried so they can get rid of him that way. The Charlottesville thing disturbed a lot of black conservatives.
Several good posts you've made here, thank you for sharing your views.
IMO, there is no way Trump gets out of the 2020 primaries.
I've never registered as either repub or dem but if it's looking close I'll register repub to vote against him in the primaries.
I agree with the above, and wanted to note that a lot of religiously conservative black people would be republicans IMO if the party didn't act like white supremacy racism and racial bias didn't exist.
On the LGBT comment, that is a very common belief amongst very evangelical black Americans. Not surprising to me at all most of my family members who are staunch Christians also are anti-LGBT and anti-abortion as well. They also don't like Muslims lol, typical more loony right wing views they have, but they don't align themselves with the GOP because they view Trump and the GOP due to its silence on racism to be a racist party.
I've mentioned many times on this forum that the GOP loses black conservative voters by acting like racism doesn't exist or condoning or excusing racism then pretend that they don't.
And that's it. Republicans love to crow about The Democratic Plantation and handouts, but their staunch commitment to (at best) ignoring racism costs them Black Evangelicals.
It's got to be one of those revolving doors, considering the volume.
This is getting to be a trend. More and more people are leaving the party for a variety of reasons. It reminds me of melting jello: looks fairly solid for the most part, but it's leaning and leaking ...
