So when your son enlists in the Armed Forces, be assured his life will be further at risk than previously, as the DOD is less concerned with Mission Readiness, and Effectiveness, and more concerned with creating a Politically Correct environment. Also, mission failure will be more likely with the goals, and objectives LESS ATTAINABLE. Wait till an opponent is at our shores. Will PC be so important then?
Can only speak from my experience in the Navy, but women always had lower physical standards than men in the physical tests. Additionally, they always played "loose" with women when doing their PT tests, as in the would round down weight measures and/or add an extra inch to height to ensure they passed. They counted poorly done push ups and sit ups, and the run time needed is so absurd, you can walk half of it and still make it.

Be careful, despite the mountain of evidence otherwise, sware2cod will scream "Fake News! Standards have NOT been lowered for women."
First woman to pass Special Forces Assessment and Selection process (Green Berets)
A pretty monumental achievement. I have seen videos of and read about the SFAS selection course. It is one of the most gnarliest selection processes around; even many fit and healthy young men cannot pass the course. Miles and miles of running and ruck marching with hundreds of pounds for endless miles. When I was at the MEPS center 16 years ago, the guy that handled my MOS choice was a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. He told me SFAS was the hardest three weeks of his life.
While it is true that this is only the first step in a long selection process, as she still has to go through two more years of specialized training if she continues to progress, much props to her for even passing this first phase.
A woman is on track to becoming the U.S. Army’s first female Green Beret — after she successfully completed the initial Special Forces Assessment and Selection process, according to a new report.
While several women have attempted the 24-day program — part of the Special Forces Qualification Course — this soldier was the first to make it onto the next round, a spokesman for the Army Special Operations Command told the Army Times.
