I am just going by the number of responses wondering where the problem is vs the number that agree with you.
I'll state it again, it is a good thing people are trying to minimize the harm of prohibition. I have noted you have not addressed that point.
This isn't about prohibition versus no prohibition.
Marijuana has been pretty much legal for many years in CA through medical marijuana .
Pretty much anyone can get a medical card
You don't see a problem with a city that doesn't have their act together . Out of control homeless population etc giving loans to people to open marijuana stores?

Thank you for making the point.
The thread's title contains "People with Marijuana Convictions". Don't you realize the thread wouldn't even exist if people were not being harmed by prohibition???
Please don't do what most anti-pot posters do and deflect the question because it supposedly doesn't fit the thread's topic.
"Pretty much" doesn't cut it. Please address my point, if you have any points to make. People working to minimize the harm of prohibition, which is exactly what this program is aimed at doing, are doing good things, in my opinion. Wouldn't you agree?

When did I say I was even anti pot ?
Oh yeah ... I didn't ...
Ok sure if people have a record for marijuana then expunge their record .
I think giving them loans to open marijuana businesses is the wrong move .

But liberals don't really think things through .
When did I ever say I was a liberal?

So, if you are not an anti-pot nut who believes that pot users should be jailed, then how would you recommend we handle those already jailed and those that are still going to be jailed (since prohibition is still in effect)? Just continue to treat them like common criminals?

99.9999% of pot users are not mobsters...
Doubt there are many or any pot users in CA jails lol .
They have been letting tons of criminals out in CA . Many crimes are no longer even really crimes.
Find me the guy in jail in CA that's just there for "smoking a joint"

Its a business, how is a loan for that start up any different then a loan for any other startup? It's not.
