He is untouchable. Republican controlled Congress will not impeach him. The consequences to them will be the revenge of the Trump base. That is IF anything is found against him. You folks with the hand wringing all the time better find some other hobby.

Except that Comey was fired from his job.

When you have to assert a legal defense that has a Nixonian flavor, you are getting into pretty desperate territories. Nothwithstanding the fact that this is a PR nightmare, when you reach this territory something pretty serious is probably going on. I am so impressed by Mueller’s approach to this investigation. Just wow.

Nope, he is not untouchable, the fact is No One is untouchable. The Republican leadership dislike trump with a passion, he has never been, nor will he ever be, one of them.If Mueller presents strong evidence of a crime having been committed by trump they will have no choice but to impeach him, the Nation will Demand it, including many Republicans. The GOP will not lose anyone if they remove trump for having committed crimes, the vast majority of trump supporters are life long Republicans and will have no option other than support the GOP. The fact of the matter is that if you do not support them you would ensure the Dems would regain complete power again, would you do that because they removed your fearless leader, I suspect some trumpings would actually do so, since they care more for rump than Party or Nation. So, you can learn to live with it, or, as you said, go find a hobby.

It's a complete mismatch.

But it just keeps getting better.

Trump hasn't been officially accused of anything but yet, here is his attorney making up defenses. I wonder why?

Trump needs to fire Mueller and his gang of bloodsuckers.

To all of you forum legal scholars, I will give you the butt-hurt you so richly deserve and it is coming from a Liberal!

Remember, Alan Dershowitz is one of you except he's honest!
(Another Honest Liberal law professor that agrees is Jonathan Turley)

Quote:
Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz batted down the merit of obstruction of justice charges aimed at President Donald Trump for what he said was exercising his constitutional power and authority regarding the firing of then-FBI Director James Comey and instructing the Department of Justice what to and not to investigate.

“If Congress were to ever charge him with obstruction of justice for exercising his constitutional authority under Article 2, we’d have a constitutional crisis,” he explained. “You cannot charge a president with obstruction of justice for exercising his constitutional power to fire Comey and his constitutional authority to tell the Justice Department who to investigate, who not to investigate. That’s what Thomas Jefferson did. That’s what Lincoln did. That’s what Roosevelt did. We have precedents that clearly establish that.”

Let Trump try and fire Mueller and see what happens! Trump will have a worse hell than he has now.
