We can stand with Israel all day but once we start putting their interest above America's interests we have a problem. For example, France is our first ally and you don't see America putting France's interest above America's interests do you?

Saying someone is an Israeli firster isn't a personal attack, it's a description of actions.. Majority of the Republican Party and a large part of the Democrat Party are Israeli firsters. We will never be able to broker a peace deal because of this. America can't be impartial whatsoever because of the Americans that place Israel's interests above American interests.. For example, we turn a blind eye to Israel's undeclared nuclear arsenal and we support their ability to occupy land taken in war... You Israeli firsters are your own worst enemy... You complain about conflict in the middle east and at the same time you support activities that fuel the fire...

With the exception of Jordan, none of the other Arab countries offered to absorb the Palestinian Arab refugees after the 1948 war.

Is are embassy in France in their capital city?

If so, are we putting French interests above our own?

(Hint, the answer to the first question is yes, so if you could answer the second question)

I don't see support for the Palestinians diminishing from other countries, quite the opposite from this action. This makes it much more difficult for the Palestinian leadership and gives more power to Hamas, Iran and other groups that engage in terror. It's what comes next that is important, does Trump have a strategy for peace. Declaring that Jerusalem is the capital was the easy part and should have come last, we should have had Israeli concessions if they expect Palestine to trust us, this was one sided.

Israel is very happy to continue with the status quo, settlements continue to be built and a two state solution is remote. But it doesn't bode well for the future for anyone.

We all know that Jerusalem is not that simplistic otherwise previous presidents would have done so already.

Regardless of Trump's irresponsible announcement, I don't support that notion that there must be a two-state solution. Actually, I think a one-state solution is better, one state with two provinces, like Switzerland. This way the settlement issue would be gone as everyone could settle anywhere they want, Palestinians could also settle in Israel and vice versa. And Jerusalem could be the capital of both provinces.
Unlike politicians from both sides, I think many normal citizens are already tired of that conflict and the problems it brings. Maybe one day the decent citizens in Israel and Palestine will get the upper hand and kick their fascist leaders out.

What major item has France done for the US since 1776 to make them a good ally now.

Might as well have to do with that. I find it a bit regrettable that the Palestinians and Muslims in general get riled up so easily, like Pavlov's dog, they should have reacted in a cool and clever way, rather than resorting to violence again, which only makes them look bad. They got the right and the support of the world community on their side, anyway. It's better to come across as the victim...
