Then he can not OFFER wedding cakes according to the law. Just like the restaurant can not serve only whites inside because they they do not offer seating to blacks.

Some Jews find handling pork offensive to their beliefs. They simply do not offer pork for sale to anyone. But they can not sell poke to Bob, but refuse to sell it to Jack.
Oh, great. Forcing a businessman to choose another occupation he has no interest or experience in? Illogical.

Sold out is not the same as we will sell it, but not to you.
Grocery stores and banks are essential services.

As far as a cake, make your own.

Should the government force chain bakeries to open locations in towns without a bakery to maintain convenience?

That's the great thing about Capitalism.....

Some place out there there is a baker who is dying to take my money, no matter how twisted he might think I am for whatever reason.

You all seem to think that if this baker is allowed to do business with whom he chooses, then suddenly no gay person on the planet will be able to buy a wedding cake from any baker, anyplace...... ever again.

And that is absolutely preposterous.....

No one is coming for your gay wedding cakes.

Just like someone whose religion dictates that Jews are evil should be able to refuse to serve them?

Bakeries, and many restaurant-type businesses, usually display a sign that says "WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE". That may sound cruel or unsettling in some instances, but it really offers protection for businesses. It also covers their fannies should a situation like this particular case arise. Thankfully, we now have the right people on the Supreme Court.

No one is forcing him to anything. He can choose what goods and services to offer, but not who he sells them to.

Why do you get to choose what is essential? What if the grocery store will sell me food, but only white bread and hot dogs. They are acting just like the baker picking and choosing what they will sell to who.
Or the bank will let me have a savings account but not an ATM card or check book they will still serve me but not those other services that are for straight people.

Those signs do not trump public accommodation laws. Yes, they can kick you out for causing a disturbance, but not for being black.

The court makeup is exactly what it has been. One conservative replaced another conservative. It's still 4-4 and a Kennedy swing.
