It's time to appoint a special prosecutor with all the powers that go along with the job (including FISA powers) to investigate ANY and ALL candidates for Congress and the Presidency. We could then bounce anyone before they waste our time running.

This needs to be done the minute papers are filed announcing the intent to run. That way we can avoid all of this angst,division,hyper-partisan and lying attacks that are now a standard for any election.

Just think how this would clean up and calm down the election cycle. No crap throwing as the person would be "Certified Clean". No more October surprises, no more skanky commercials impugning a candidate's character etc, etc, etc.
We'd all be listening only to the issues and ideas, imagine that!

There is supposed to be evidence of a crime before there is an investigation.

Don't waste time, and money on "investigations", let the voters sort it out.

Who is watching the watchers? Last time I check, Hillary Clinton is STILL not in jail even after committing the crimes... who is going to hand out the punishments?

Better yet, parties could screen better and voters could take responsibility.

Republicans had 16 people to pick from during the primaries. They ignored some reasonable folk because they were too busy loving the Trump ****show.

Absolutely we do. It's corrupt from the beginning.

Or you can shut off the news and research the candidate yourself... instead of succumbing to opinion pieces disguised as legitimate journalism...

But that's just me... I don't see a reason to pizz money away on investigations when a few devoted hours and Google can reveal most everything you want to know about a public figure...

My example. Move to Florida in June before the 2016 election. Find out who's on the ballot at local state and federal level. Do they share the same beliefs as me? Involved in corruption? Involved in shady activities?

I can sympathize with a transparency act for Congress/Senate even the president down to a town supervisor city council members.
No guarantee to privacy via government email. No guarantee to privacy via bank accounts. Find what lobby owns who.
I wouldn't oppose that or term limits.

What I do oppose is claims of sexual assault/abuse from decades back, with members of the government regardless of party, investigations and settlements paid for via the tax payer.
We the people are responsible for our behavior/actions in a court of law and held to a standard that in a lawsuit happy society, we lose our case we pay our victims. Why don't the elected officials be held accountable to the same standard? Why are we paying their settlements and loses?

Voters? As is being shown nowadays according to some, what the hell do they know? A Special Prosecutor would add to the unbiased information that people need to vote with confidence.

That'll never happen.

Any punishments would be handed out by a court after criminal charges are filed no matter how long ago the "crimes" were committed. They'd not allowed to run because of old issues found.

time and again i explain this to you guys.

if you really think Hillary has committed a crime contact Judicial Watch immediately.

JW, has tens of millions of dollars, they are extreme right and funded for exactly this type of thing.
They have an army of right wing lawyers who are experts and would make a deal with the devil to get a career making once in a lifetime case on Hillary.
If JW thought they could get Hillary for so much as Jaywalking they would be lobbying for a prosecution 24/7.

So evilnewbie, if you are not just drinking the kool aid and you think you know something Hillary did, call them, they would love absolutely LOVE to hear from anyone with real life chargeable offense.

(see evilnewbie, this is how we know you have nothing, and are just repeating fake BS, because if half of your claims were even 1/4 true, you would be dialing right now)
