Ahhhhhhhh driving in Germany was so great. Everyone obeys the rules of the road and there are 0 tolls in the entire country because taxes already pay for everything. It greatly reduced congestion.
That is easy when your roads were built with slave labor and now you are just taxing for maintenance.
They are making it so you cannot get around in Houston, or Dallas, without having to take a toll road.
Austin is not far behind, it looks like.
The intellectuals in charge of our roadway infrastructure, do not see the need when building roads is the population growth. By the time the road is completed in 3 years, it already needs to be widened for another lane or 2.
Now to combat population growth and our roads... Code NEXT LOL!
I-35 through Austin, soon to be tolled, to make up for the lack of vision of growth in the 1970's.
San Antonio has not tolled a road yet.
Hmmm, I live in Houston and rarely pay a toll.
Where in Houston can you not go without paying a toll?
Plenty of non-"leftists" saying the opposite. Tolling is actually a pretty right-wing idea.

Schools and tolls are some areas in which there are many things libs and cons agree on things, though with different intents.

Did it for years and now that I am semi-retired those are the only contracts I will take. Still go into an office for the occasional meeting with an engineer but otherwise everything is done remote. I had to learn to pace myself, some would say people will goof off more, but I found I ended up having my 40hrs in by Thursday which worked out great for me so, helps when I have other things in life to do.
In Ohio your license and registration fees go for construction and maintenance.
So unless you like living in a cage...you gotta pay it.
I don't care how much I pay in forced toll roads or forced taxes...it's all armed robbery to me.
Nothing is free in socialism. NOTHING.
Toll roads are closer to a "pay as you use" system than taxation. What is your issue with that?
Is it just because it is not a private company running it that you take issue with?
