Trump can bring the country together. United we stand, divided we fall.
Quote:
President Donald Trump is attending Saturday’s opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, the White House confirmed Tuesday.
Since Trump's visit was first reported Monday, several civil rights activists say they plan to protest or boycott the event.
When asked about possible protests during her regular press conference, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders replied, “I think that would be honestly very sad. This should be something that brings the country together.”
Several months ago, Gov. Phil Bryant invited Trump to attend the opening of the two museums — the civil rights museum and the History of Mississippi Museum — on Saturday, the state’s 200th birthday.
I remember the hate, democrats had right after the 2016 election. They marched on the streets for like a while.
I just don't see that hate after 10 months of this administration. I just think people don't care anymore. I remember seeing protesters all 8 years of George Bush, mostly small, but they were on their corners.
After reading more of the article and the comments some of those that are staying away are making-I think it's good that Trump is coming. Keep the bigots, haters and racists making those statements away makes for a more inclusive event that brings people together instead of splitting them apart. An event like this is too great for identity politics. Let's hope they have the decency to stay away and not ruin this event for the people attending.
