Police say a father eating with his family at a fast food restaurant in San Antonio fatally shot a robber who threatened his family with a gun.
Police Capt. Michael Starnes told the San Antonio Express-News that the robber died at the scene Wednesday evening.
San Antonio police Sgt. Roy Miller says the gunman threatened the father and restaurant employees and the employees ran out the back of the restaurant. The gunman demanded money and, when the father refused, the gunman turned his weapon toward the man’s family. At that point, the father, who is licensed to carry a firearm, pulled out his own gun and fired.
Starnes says the father isn’t facing charges and that he “really saved the day and protected a lot of people.”
Many criminals believe that, even in Texas or other Concealed Carry states, their victims will always cower or run. They must be very surprised when their prey shoots back.
Note: while many may disagree with me I believe that stopping a violent assault with a deadly force is not a sin even if the assailant dies as a result. Sometimes killing people is the only solution to an assault. Many, many people in this country cannot accept this because they cannot believe killing a person is justifiable. It is always a sin to these people.

As a progressive democrat that has carry-concealed for almost 15 years now, I agree with you.
I'm not religious, so I won't feel bad or like I've sinned if I had to kill somebody for pointing a gun at my family.

How it can be a sin?
As a Hebrew native speaker I can tell you that the Sixth Commandment (Lo Tirtzach) translates as "Do not murder" and not "Do not kill".

Isn't the the crux of the problem? It sounds like according to Lo Tirtzach if you kill a murder you are still a sinner.
Yes, that is why so many Texans carry, and we know it works.
