The third party is going to have to start at the grass roots level and begin with the states. The federal system is too deep in the two party system and a third party would be to small to have any affect.

Until we find a way to bring a third party to the same level of power as the dominant two it's still effectively a two party system.

Its not easy to make a third party but with everything going the way it is, the Republican party is about to be history.. they are losing their base voters as they become more and more like Democrats... funny, because America is also becoming more and more about corporate America then about the citizens out there as well...

A strong third party, with viable candidates, at all levels - Local, State, Federal, is definitely needed - and has been for quite some time.

I'd love to have a third choice in this year's election for POTUS, but only a viable choice with a reaistic shot at winning, otherwise it becomes just a vote for "None of the Above".

That's not my problem. Unfortunately, the people who make those kinds of decisions are NOT the common person.

If 90% of the voters picked a third party candidate, the Electors would still pick from one of the two dominant parties.

Are you referring to the Electoral College? Are you saying that if the voters voted by the numbers you suggest for a 3rd party candidate for POTUS, the Electoral College would ignore that vote???

Please, would you clarify?

Just goes to show how far removed contemporary Republicans have become. Thank you Chuck. (tips hat)
