I understand that historically the left & right have battled in Washington ad nauseum. I have no expectations of a perfect bi-partisan government where everyone is hugging and singing Kumbaya. I think ALL past presidents have obviously stuck mostly to their party lines, and although some may ask for support from across the hall, they focus on their own. It just appears to me that Trump has one of the strongest voices in my memory of pushing the two sides farther apart. To me it sounds like his theory is there is NO room for ANY democrats in politics, and that part of his Make America Great again campaign is making this a one party system (which 99.9% sure would never happen).

I just don't think it's a healthy approach for me, Joe Citizen. I live in one country, and rely on one government to attempt to stand by me. I'm not living in Wally World and understand there will always be a divide, but again I just can't remember a time where the gap is being widened so fiercely by a POTUS.
He is not dividing government, that happened decades ago. He is also not the first to divide us, but he is one of worst in that category.

There is no division in Govt, despite what it may look like on the news and tv, ALL the politicians in DC stand together as one, when the cameras are turned off, Im sure they are all buddy-buddy. They seek to divide the general public for a specific reason.

Even if Hillary had been elected, the same things would be going on right now, this goes beyond a temporary president/ administration. There is truly a man(men) behind the curtain, pulling all the strings to ensure the outcomes they desire.

Without arrogant remarks like that - and there were plenty of them - the Republican Party may have been content and would not have fought back.
In that way, Obama created The Republican Party.

I see the problem here your watching Faux news.

We also watch the Super Bowl where the halftime shows consist of Beyonce' twerking with the Black Panthers as her dance squad.

This was well before Trump won the presidency.

Exactly, the divide started at least 10 years ago. At least in the ways we see it today. Trump just is the same exact type of person as the right on CD.

Sounds reasonable if you lived in a cave during the last administration.
The continued hate-America left is out in force looking for support. Trump and his supporters won't be joining them.

Interesting observation. Please substantiate with credible evidence.

Trump is poison, he is toxic , he is a traitor. Our system of government was not designed to deal with this type of scorched earth politics. The end result will be a larger much more powerful Left wing, the danger is that liberals will become as extreme as Conservatives. I don't know that moderate liberals like myself will be able to contain the more liberal and more extreme elements of the left.

It is important to understand Trump is not a republican he is merely a demagogue utilising the Republican party to achieve his limited goals. And Trumps real goals are not aligned with the public's needs or desires, he is there for the bragging rights and to get richer richer and richer. it is all about his ego.

Trump has completely betrayed his base in order to enrich his cronies, and he has done it at the expense of the middle class, working class and poor.

I wonder what the people of no class will think about this ? Individuals ??
