I guess we are supposed to be outraged about this...apparently John Lewis is someone we are supposed to fall down before on our knees. But I'd never heard of him either until now.
Lewis: a has been establishment lifer. I'd dismiss him too. His type are what is wrong with the system.
I both voted and agree with Trump on this....
John Lewis attempted to show him up by saying that he refused to go to the Civil Rights Museum because Trump was gonna be there...
Fine...his right....and Trump has every right not to acknowledge who he is or invite him to the white house for anything while he is President...
John Lewis made his bed on this one...
btw...I personally love it when Trump counter punches
It's no wonder you love it as it shows his immaturity. With trump's record in civil rights, John Lewis can't be faulted for not attending trump's reading of a script at the level of a 5th grader.
If the President played less golf he might know who all those people are wandering around the halls of congress are. Forget about what they have accomplished just what their names are and who they represent. He's trying to make it look like a schoolboy taunt but at his age he probably cant remember a lot.
What's hard to understand for his supporters is Donald Trump has a long personal history with people in Washington, Hollywood, business circles and in legal affairs and he can't fool those people who already seen his colors thirty years ago. Many people dissing him today are not just dissing President Trump but that AH they met thirty years ago.
Trump has a lot of visibility. If Lewis was half as smart as some people think he would engage with Trump in a respectful way and use that visibilty to make his points.
But no, Lewis chose the crybaby poutrage approach and now he is shuffling off to irrelevancy.

No, Lewis has a lot of integrity and if he's going to spend some of it on Trump, Trump would be wise to meet him halfway instead of insulting his life's work.
Lewis was relevant 60 years ago. Now all he does is stir up trouble....even recently leading a ridiculous 'sit-in' of fellow dem politicians in the House chamber. His job is supposed to be negotiating, not protesting to take away civil rights for americans to own guns or the elected president of the USA!

Insulting his life’s work?
How so?
Now ya see? This is why no one can take you seriously.
But that’s OK. Rage against the machine.
See you at the polling places! LOL!
Just goes to show that Trump, his allies, his supporters are so out of touch with what has happened in history and the civil rights movement. I wouldn't expect your ilk to be outraged. Too dumb for that.
Lewis was one of the "Big Six" leaders of groups who organized the 1963 March on Washington, played many key roles in the Civil Rights Movement and its actions to end legalized racial segregation in the United States.
Read the article!
"John who?", was a retort. The "Trump ally", Sheriff David Clarke, went on to indicate that he knows perfectly well who John Lewis is, and purposely dismisses Lewis as irrelevant.
We don't need a lecture a who Lewis was. Maybe a lecture on who he thinks he is would be nice.
Quote:
"John Lewis has become one of the most irrelevant members of Congress," Clarke asserted, accusing the Democratic lawmaker of poor leadership in his Georgia district.
"Look, no one cares what John Lewis is doing, he's been reduced to being a caricature in that he has to pull a political stunt like this, he can't even honor the civil rights museum opening."
