We can start by simply not getting involved in telling other countries where to locate their capital, especially when it's to a place that has been claimed by multiple parties (at odds with one another) for over 2000 years.

That was just a stupid move. And as unpopular as it is to say, both sides have a reasonable claim to Jerusalem. It was just plain stupid for the USA to try to "give it" to either side. It's not ours to give. Hell, it's not either of theirs to fully claim. The only solution would have to involve some cooperation, which seems to be a foreign concept to this President.
