Why is everything these days so black and white, one extreme vs. the other? Traditional America looked at exceptions, various scenarios, and really anything that might need to be "put on the table" for consideration. That's why older America worked so much better. It was analog, encompassing the entire spectrum. Today, we foolishly pare down everything to only two choices, and not only that, but at the extreme bum-f@ck ends of the pole.

We'll never get anywhere with this primitive, backwards, childish trend of one extreme over the other, leaving out all the relevant details in the middle. And that certainly applies to this discussion.

Once the woman is pregnant, she alone gets to choose when, where, and how. If the guy doesn't want her to be able to choose abortion (or motherhood, since many men really resent having to pay child support), he had better keep it in his pants.

I don't know the laws and state laws as is. However, as a man, I can't agree to men being EXACTLY or AT LEAST half the equation.
A woman has to carry the child for 9 months. Then they gotta deliver the child. Many places don't have maternity policy, but even if they did, they'll either need to use PTO, or miss out on work.

Yeah, in our hypothetical situation, it sucks that a woman can just agree to end the pregnancy, even if the husband objects, and is fully willing to support her in raising the child with money and effort.

On the flip side, a man can promise he'll do those things, but then flake out, leaving the woman in an even more lousy situation.

Is it that women aren’t responsible enough or not smart enough to take care of an unwanted pregnancy relatively early in the pregnancy?

Probably neither.

After 12ish weeks or so, most women get abortions for medical reasons. OR, they may have irregular periods and didn't realize they were pregnant til 16 weeks or so.

So, in your mind, it should be reasonable to limit “normal circumstances” abortions to 20 weeks and make exceptions for “unusual circumstances” that go beyond that 20 weeks?

Sorry, I confused you with one of the “it’s her choice for any reason at any time” radicals.
